About This Class:

Our beginner’s workshop in modern calligraphy is a one-off calligraphy course that will teach you everything you need to know starting right at the basics. This course is designed to equip you with the fundamentals needed to create stunning lettering.

You will learn about the tools of calligraphy and technique, learning how to write each calligraphy letter. This is also perfect for brides to be wanting to use calligraphy on their wedding stationery or just anyone wanting to learn to write beautifully.

If you are left handed this is no problem, just let us know in the "order notes" so we can provide you with a different pen to hold the nib.

If you are just starting out or are looking for hands-on tips and techniques to improve your beginner’s hand, this workshops is perfect for you!

Do I Need to Bring Anything: 
Nothing at all. You will be given take home pack, that consists of:
1 oblique pen holder
1 nib
1 pot of black ink
Take home sheets with the full alphabet and plenty of practice sheets

 

All our workshops include unlimited tea, coffee and we always have plenty of cake on offer at every workshop and vegan friendly biscuits. If you require gluten free sweet treats please let us know!

Fun and productive evening

Anthea was wonderful, warm and very patient. The class was most enjoyable, and there was lots of stuff to take back home to continue practicing. The cakes and tea were an added bonus!

Fanatastic Class

I had such a fantastic time at this calligraphy class! The teacher was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a lovely person who made the session both informative and engaging. She took the time to go around and help each of us individually, offering invaluable tips on mixing inks and perfecting our grip—things I would never have picked up from a book or video. If you’re into anything crafty, I highly recommend this class. I’ll definitely be back for another creative session

The class was wonderful

The class was wonderful, the teacher Anthea was wonderful - skilled, patient and full of good energy :)
We immediately dropped into flow state and by the end were getting great results!
Also you get to take the materials away with you so you can immediately put what you learned into practice without having to buy loads of extra kit!

Loved the class

The teacher was very friendly and kind. We felt supported and gently encouraged throught the class.
The general information and background on calligraphy was helpful, and she gave us the supplies at the end, so we can continue practicing at home.
